Cecilia ‘Cece’ Owens was born and raised in the city of Chicago, IL. I obtained my BA degree in Business Management with a minor in Accounting back in 2008. After obtaining my degree I moved to Minneapolis working in different Accounting roles for Nash Finch and Hopkins Public School District. In 2017 I continued my finance career at a startup company named Drip which specializes in email marketing. After being at Drip for years, I realized that I wanted to make a bigger impact for myself, my family, and community. In 2020; I helped organize Drip’s first DEI team and initiatives. Working alongside the leadership team and an amazing bunch of other Dripsters to bring a sense of belonging for all. In 2021 I moved over to Drip’s People Team (HR) working on all things HR operations including DEI.

As a little girl born and raised in one of the most marginalized communities in the city of Chicago; I myself have experienced being without a home in many stages of my upbringing. I realize that my impact and passion can merge together to help create change and move the needle forward when it comes to creating affordable housing for families. My hope is that with my experience and ideas; I can continue to foster the mission of Solid Ground alongside amazing people with the same passion.
