What’s Happening at Solid Ground

New Scattered Site Program Manager

“I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to be able to pursue my passions for both housing and ending homelessness, while building lasting relationships with our families, local landlords, and community social service providers. I do the work I do because I grew up in a single mother, low-income household which prepared me with the empathy and understanding that resilience is absolutely possible when you are surrounded by encouraging people who see YOU and your potential.” – Vanessa Richter
We are thrilled to announce Vanessa Richter as our new Scattered Site Program Manager. With a degree in Real Estate, Vanessa worked in residential property management before joining Solid Ground three years ago as the Housing Navigator for our scattered-site programs. Vanessa is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work at the University of St. Thomas.
Vanessa looks forward to using her skills to support families in our HomeAgain, HomeFront, and HomeSafe programs. She is excited to lead the scattered site team and work more closely with collaborative partners in Washington and Ramsey counties. Please join us in congratulating Vanessa!

About Solid Ground

Solid Ground is an award-winning Minnesota nonprofit whose proven, holistic approach helps families build the strong foundations they need to emerge from homelessness into a brighter future. Through safe, affordable housing and innovative supportive programming, Solid Ground helps families break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for the next generation.

At the heart of Solid Ground is the belief that housing stability is fundamental to the healthy development of children and to a family’s ability to be contributing members of the community. Solid Ground currently runs eight programs in the suburban Ramsey and Washington Counties housing nearly 570 women, men and children annually. Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness for families with children in the communities we serve through housing, resources, and opportunity.
