What’s Happening at Solid Ground

Help Kids Learn & Grow at Solid Ground’s Summer Camp!

Solid Ground Summer Camp runs Monday-Thursday from June 14th – Aug 5th and is available to students in grades K-6 at our East Metro Place facility. Each day of camp begins with academic tutoring in the morning, followed by a light lunch, then finishes with an enrichment activity in the afternoon. We are looking for volunteers to help at least once a week in the following areas:

  • Academic Tutoring
    • Mondays & Tuesdays: 10:30am-12:30pm
    • Wednesdays & Thursdays: 10:30am-11:30am
  • Afternoon Activities
    • Mondays & Tuesdays: 1:30pm-3:00pm
  • Field Trip Chaperone
    • Thursdays: 12:30pm-3:00pm

As a volunteer, your help would be needed to work 1-on-1 with a student to help make sure that they are following along with the activities and are having fun while doing so. No prior experience is needed.

About Solid Ground

Solid Ground is an award-winning Minnesota nonprofit whose proven, holistic approach helps families build the strong foundations they need to emerge from homelessness into a brighter future. Through safe, affordable housing and innovative supportive programming, Solid Ground helps families break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for the next generation.

At the heart of Solid Ground is the belief that housing stability is fundamental to the healthy development of children and to a family’s ability to be contributing members of the community. Solid Ground currently runs eight programs in the suburban Ramsey and Washington Counties housing nearly 570 women, men and children annually. Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness for families with children in the communities we serve through housing, resources, and opportunity.
