Tallulah came to Solid Ground with her newborn daughter. She connected with us through the Mothers First program, determined to find stability and build a future for her and her daughter.
Like so many parents who come through our doors, she faced not only housing insecurity but also the weight of judgment and stigma that can come with seeking help. With safe housing and supportive services, that stigma began to fade. For the first time, Tallulah felt she didn’t have to hide her story. She found hope in having a home where she and her daughter could grow together.
A key to Solid Ground’s success is that we give families access to wrap-around services so they can live the life they want to live. Tallulah was able to enroll at a local university to study early childhood education in hopes of becoming a teacher one day. She is beginning to plan for a future that she once thought was out of reach, and it all starts with home.
Tallulah beams about Solid Ground “Having a program that’s specifically for families is really meaningful to me because I know that my daughter isn’t ever going to have to experience what I have.”
When families have stable housing and access to supportive services, they don’t just survive; they thrive. They find confidence, rebuild trust, and restore what was lost. Every family deserves that chance. Every parent deserves to see their child safe and happy in a home of their own!
